How to get to Legoland from Denmark?
There are several options for getting from Copenhagen to Legoland Billund, Denmark.
The best option is to hire a car but this is not possible for everyone but there are options for public transport too.
Copenhagen to Legoland by Car
The best way to get from Copenhagen to Legoland is by car.
If you do not have access to your own car you can hire one from the airport or from Copenhagen city center.
Copenhagen is located 260.9km from Legoland and takes around 2 hours and 40 minutes – depending on traffic of course.
Keep in mind you will need to pay 245DKK toll per car to cross the Great Belt Bridge.
Copenhagen to Legoland by Train
If you’re looking to take public transport, the train is the best option.
There are direct trains from Copenhagen central station to Vejle which is located 37km from Legoland. The journey takes around 2 hours.
It is a very scenic journey and crosses the Great Belt and the Little Belt to the island of Funen.
Tickets cost 298DKK for a single ticket but you can buy an orange ticket in advance which is cheaper
Once you reach Vejle will need to switch to bus #43 which runs every 30 minutes from Vejle Traficenter to Legoland and takes 45 minutes.
Copenhagen to Legoland by Bus
A less expensive, though slower method is to take a bus from Copenhagen to Vejle, then switch onto bus #43 headed towards Billund.
The journey by bus from Copenhagen to Vejle takes around three hours.
Bus tickets cost 89 DKK for a single ticket.
Copenhagen to Legoland by Plane
This may sound a little crazy but you can actually fly from Copenhagen to Billund airport.
Copenhagen and Billund are the biggest airports in Denmark and only have a flight time of 50 minutes between the two.

Once you have reached Billund airport you can take a taxi (the journey is less than 5 minutes) or you can take a local bus, number 43.
If you’re not travelling with much luggage you can walk to Legoland and it will only take you around 20 minutes.
Just be mindful that this is not an environmentally friendly way to reach Legoland and it is also not the cheapest.

When is Legoland open?
In the past Legoland has been open from March until October with opening hours generally from 10am until 9pm and the rides/attractions are open until 8pm.
The opening times can vary so it is best to check the calendar on the Legoland website to make sure they are open on your chosen date.
However, for the first time ever, in 2022 Legoland will be open for select dates and times in November (26th and 27th) and December (a range of dates from the 10th of December until the 31st of December, but they are closed on Christmas eve and Christmas Day).

The original Legoland at Billund is a very popular attraction and unlike many other theme parks and tourist attractions around the world, Legoland Billund is actually the busiest during the week, usually on Tuesdays and Wednesday.
However, Saturdays are relatively quiet.
The summer period is also very busy as Denmark (and the rest of Europe) are on their school break.
The end of August and beginning of September is a great time to visit Legoland as the weather is still warm but most of the locals are back at school and work.
The Easter break is also a “quieter” time to visit. There are still lines but not as crazy as the summer break and there park doesn’t feel quite as busy.

You entrance fee and all rides are included in the ticket price but you will need to purchase your own food, however, you can bring a picnic if you’re looking to save a little bit of money.
When purchasing your ticket you can chose from a 1 day ticket or a 2 day ticket. Your 1 day ticket is valid for one day but your 2 day ticket is valid for 6 days from the first day of activation, so you do not need to visit the park two days in a row.
Children and adults pay the same for tickets but those under two are free. Ticket prices start at € 68.29 in low season, ticket prices change depending on the season so make sure you check before purchasing your ticket.
